Tip of the Week: Blossom Petals Punch

Last week I shared a card that used the Blossom Petals Punch, so I decided to show you how you can maximize your cardstock when using this punch so you minimize the amount of scraps you need to use!!

Depending on which stamp and punch you are using, you should line the stamp up accordingly.  For example, if you want to punch the largest petal shape, you need to stamp starting on the left hand side of the paper and work your way across.  Always stamp, then punch, stamp, then punch, etc.  Using this method, you can get 5 petals across a strip of 8-1/2" cardstock.

Here you can see the orientation of that particular punch on the larger punch.

If you want to do the larger skinny petal, you want to stamp the image with the fatter side down, and stamp on the right hand side of the paper.  That looks like this.

But really for your BEST bet, you should watch the video below - that will make it ALL make more sense!!  :)

Easy Christmas Card

Here's a super easy Christmas card that I wanted to share.  It's one of the cards we made at Diva Day last week.  It's SO easy, I contemplated using it for my Christmas card, but now that it's out there in cyber space, I'll have to work on something else.  Hopefully I can manage!!  :)

All my Divas received the Christmas Postcard stamp set and this was one of the samples we made with it.  Here are the other "ingredients":

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Big Shot, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder

If you notice the embossing creates a frame around the stamped image, and you aren't sure how that is done, I created a video on that a few months back.  You can check it out here:

Your Friday Morning Halloween Card Video

Doesn't have the same ring to it as Friday Night Videos, huh?  Plus mine don't have cool music.  I can change that.  And I just might - you'll have to keep watching the videos to see if they get cooler.

Friday Night Videos - Cheers to You!!!!

This was the video I had originally planned to go out last week, and I had a few technical difficulties.  Hopefully, those problems are all in the past, and you'll regularly see a new video posted here every Friday!!  You can expect techniques, cards, 3d projects - and who knows what else!!  Just stay tuned and make sure you visit often so you don't miss anything!!!

Friday Night Videos!!!

Well, I promised you a video, and I recorded one, however, I had some technical difficulties and haven't gotten it finished yet.  So, I went back to the archives and found a fun technique that I recorded awhile back and thought I'd share it with you in case you didn't see it before.

A New Year - More Videos???

In my post on New Year's Day, I wrote that I hoped to create more videos.  Right now I am trying to put one in each of my monthly newsletters.  I ran into a few road bumps last fall when our basement was getting renovated because there were a few weeks were things were not in their proper places and/or things were covered with dust!  (Yea, I know - excuses, excuses!)  So between that and the mental reason that I think they take so long, I skipped a few months.  But they really aren't as time consuming as I think that they will be, so I am going to try to put one in every newsletter, and maybe even post some more right here on my blog!!!  You can see all my videos on my YouTube Channel - jenstampsdotcom - but to get notice of them, you should really subscribe to my newsletter.

But since I am on the topic, here is the video from my December newsletter.  I call it the Bridesmaid Resist Technique because it uses the Bridesmaid Specialty paper.  It's a pretty simple technique, but looks really cool!!
