I am really excited about this month's tutorial!!!  It uses the Merry & Type stamp set and best of all, it's FREE!

Do you Kindle???

Just curious, but how many of you out there have a Kindle?

My husband got one last year for Father's Day, so a little over 6 months ago, and he LOVES it.  I am currently reading a book via the nook on my iPad, but also downloaded the Kindle app and know what I found out????  You can download the Kindle app almost anywhere!!   Your PC, iPad, Droid, iPhone, you name it!!!

So all that cool info just happened to coincide with the fact that I just learned and uploaded my very first tutorial available via Kindle.  So if you have a Kindle, you can go right to the Kindle store and buy it!!  And if you don't you can download the app for FREE here.  Once you have that (or even if you don't... yet...), you  can check out my tutorial.  It's to make this adorable box that holds a box of Valentine's Candy Hearts.

 
If you have a special Valentine in your life, you'll want to get this tutorial to make this super cute project!

Another Study in Extreme Skateboarding

With my busy weekend, and other samples lately, I didn't want you to forget about my boyfriend, the Extreme Skateboarder!!  I was originally going to save these samples until after this weekend because I was supposed to present this technique, but the plans have changed, and I am not going to present this anymore.  So, now I can share it with you early!!

I call this technique Rainbow Resist.  I actually featured it as my video tutorial in my newsletter this month.  Here's a link to the video:

It's such a fun technique.  The one above was inspired by the colors in a Grateful Dead shirt that I used to have.  (Okay, I admit, I still have it.  And I wear it sometimes - but mostly to bed.  I love it.  I can't help it.)  :)

Holiday Organizer Tutorial

Here is a tutorial on how to make a Holiday Organizer.  This was a free project idea that I sent out to those people on my mailing list.  I will be sending out a new tutorial every week for the next 12 weeks (it IS the 12 Weeks of Christmas Promotion).  If you'd like to get all these tutorials on a weekly basis, be sure to sign up for my mailing list.  In the meantime, enjoy!!!!

Supply List:

Two sheets of 12 x 12 patterned paper

Three sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock

18" ribbon

Marker

Self Adhesive Diecuts

Two sheets 8.5 x 11 White cardstock

Large Open End Envelope

White Pocket Folder

Stapler

Adhesive

Bone Folder

1. Select several pieces of cardstock &  Designer Series Paper and cut them into 4-1/2" x 12" strips.  You'll need a total of 6 strips and you can mix & match the paper however you'd like.

2. Take 5 of those strips and cut them into two pieces - 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" and 4-1/2" x 7-1/2".

3. Using your bone folder, create an accordion fold in your pocket folder.

4.  Attach your cardstock & designer paper strips to the cover of your folder.  Use the 6th strip for the back of your folder.

5. Staple the Real Red Grosgrain ribbon to the front of the folder.  (You only need one staple.)

6. Attach the remainder of the cardstock & designer paper to the inside of the folder.

7. Cut your 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock in half so you have 4 pieces of 4-1/4" x 11".  Staple two together.

8. Embellish white cardstock using the following titles (or be creative & come up with your own titles!): "family traditions" (from the diecuts), "gift list" (this is for the two pieces stapled together), and "to do".  Write "Receipts" on the envelope.

9. Embellish the remainder of the folder as you'd like with your self-adhesive diecuts.  Tuck your lists & envelope inside the pockets on the inside of your folder.  Tie closed with the ribbon.

Pages that FLIP!

These are some of the most fun scrapbook pages that I have done lately.  They are great for the times when you have TONS of pictures that you want to cram onto one layout!  And - they come in very handy when you have journaling you want to put write, but not for the whole world to read!  It's a really easy project too!!  Thanks to my friend Leah for showing me how to do it!!!!

You will need 3 pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock (or 8.5 x 11 if you scrapbook that size, I used Basic Black for this sample), Sticky Strip, 12" paper cutter with scoring blade, and a bone folder.

Cut one sheet of cardstock in half, so you have 2- 6 x 12 pieces.

Score both of the pieces at 1".

Fold on your score lines with a bone folder.

Add Sticky Strip to the 1" section of the cardstock. 

Attach this to the back of the full 12 x 12 page to form a flap.

Both pages together make up your basic construction.  Embellish as desired.

Tunnel Book Tutorial!

You will need 6 pieces of cardstock cut at 4-1/4 x 11. In this tutorial, I used 3 of one color (Mellow Moss) for the "fronts", 2 of another (Chocolate Chip) and 1 of a third (Very Vanilla).  The Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla pieces were the "backs".

Fold them all in half with your Bone Folder so you have 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 pieces. Decide which pieces will be in the back and which will be in the front . Set aside the 3 that will be in the back (Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla).

Fold the other 3 again, making an "M" (fold both ends so they meet in the middle).

  Using the Coluzzle Cutting System (R), cut circles or ovals in the middle of these sheets.

Then start to attach 2 pieces together - one from the "back" and one from the "front".

This picture of the BACK of the Mellow Moss cardstock shows you where to place the adhesive. 

When you attach both pieces together make sure the cut out area will point out toward you (the mountain part of the fold).

Once you have this done with all three, you attach them together. Two will face you, and the third will go behind, so that there are 2 sides to the book when it is completely open.

Embellish, add photos, and journal!  This is a great mini book and makes a great gift!!
