Yesterday was my Hostess Appreciation Party and my new catalog kick off, so I had to create some new samples for both!!!
My Hostess Appreciation Party is one of my favorite events of the whole year, and now that there will be 2 catalogs each year, I am going to have one every six month now!!! Only my hostesses who have had a home workshop during the past year are invited, and I treat them to breakfast (including mimosa!!), games, prizes, and of course some projects!!!
This first project is a photo album created with clear envelopes.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Short Order Alphabet, In the Spotlight (Level 2 Hostess set); Cardstock: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate; Inks: Soft Sky, River Rock, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black; Accessories: Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched Ribbon, Staple, Fire Circle Brads, CropADile
The second project was a simple birthday card.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: All About Occasions, All About Birthday wheel (both items part of the Level 3 Hostess bundle, All about Occasions); Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal; Inks: Certainly Celery Jumbo Cartridge; Accessories: Certainly Celery & Apricot Appeal Markers, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Apricot Appeal 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
Immediately following the Hostess Appreciation party, I held my New Catalog Open House. We made two more cards using new sets & products at this party, and I thought you'd like to see those, too! The first was a great card for a little boy's birthday or even a new baby card.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Zoofari; Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Whisper White; Inks: Basic Black; Accessories: Bashful Blue, Going Gray, Creamy Caramel, and Close to Cocoa Markers
The second is anther simple card that I was inspired by a card on Erika Martin's website and a card from Paper Crafts magazine. When I combined the two and added the InColor twist, this is what I came up with:
I created this board book for a Demo Only Class with the new Zoofari set, and I think I'm going to plan a class for YOU to make this as well. To see the rest of the book as well as other samples from the new Fall Winter Collection, check out the Photo Album to the right!
Here is a card from my 10-10-20 card class this past week. The class featured all retiring sets, and this one was one of my favorites. If you want to get the latest info on my classes, make sure to sign up for my mailing list in the box on the upper left.
SU Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Linen background (NOT retiring), Pocket Fun
Inks: Basic Black, Buckaroo Blue
Cardstock: Buckaroo Blue, Certainly Celery, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Basic Black Marker, Night of Navy Marker, Color Spritzer Tool, White Gel Pen
I cased the idea from Julie Buhler on SCS. I liked it because it not only used a retiring stamp set, but it also used Buckaroo Blue, one of the retiring In-Colors!!! Leave me a comment & let me know what you think!
As promised, here is a layout from last weekend's crop! I copied this layout from the Layout Blueprints book, and there were several of us at the weekend crop who did this layout. My personal inspiration from this was my friend Dawn P, who also scrapbooked her Animal Kingdom pictures using this layout!!!
We took this trip in 2004, and I had planned to scrapbook it right away, and that never happened. So last weekend, I had ordered a bunch of pictures that didn't arrive on time, so I went back into the archives & decided to scrapbook Orlando 2004.
Although it's a little hard to see, this card uses the Metallic Pencil Resist technique. If you look closely, there are little spots of white showing through the circles of blue & purple and that is where the metallic pencils were before I stamped the color on top. Once the ink was dry, I rubbed off the pencil leaving the white areas!
Both of these stamp sets used in this sample are on the retiring list! Get them now while they are still available!
Stamp set: Winged Things, Wonderful Words II
Inks: Basic Black, Lovely Lilac, Brocade Blue
Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Basic Black, Glossy White
Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Metallic Art Pencils, tissue
Thanks to all of you who left comments for Emily last week! She LOVED getting them, and now she thinks she's even more of a princess!!!
Hope you enjoyed this week's sample! Next week, I think I'll feature some new scrapbook pages from my awesome weekend getaway that I just got back from!
This is a card my daughter, Emily created. I went into her pre-school last week to celebrate her birthday and her & I showed all the kids in her class how to do the marbling technique. This was the sample she created as we demonstrated it to the class. If you are on my mailing list, you should recognize this sample, as I used it for my Technique of the Month this month.
Stamp set: All Year Cheer II (on the retiring list!)
Inks: Basic Black
Classic Ink Refills: Cool Caribbean, Lavender Lace, Green Galore
Cardstock: Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Accessories: Empty stamp cases, marbles
Emily would love it if you left her a comment and let her know how much you like her card!!
Cardstock: Lavender Lace, Eggplant Envy, Whisper White
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2 Way Glue Pen
This card is actually a pop up card, and it was a technique we taught at Stamp & Scrap University 5. We are now offering our most recent S&SU to EVERYONE, but to find out how you can get one, you have to be on my mailing list!! My May newsletter will be going out tomorrow, so if you are interested in this program and sign up for my list too late, you'll need to email me for all the details!!
I love this technique - I named it Tie Dye Backgrounds. I used stamping spots & basically did direct to paper from the center out to the edges. I masked the center with a post it note, then stamped the image.
This was a technique we taught at one of our Stamp & Scrap University sessions - a series of classes all about techniques - back in November 2005. Join my mailing list so you can learn about the next S&SU. (We do it 6 times a year!!) If you are local to me, we'd love to have you attend, but if you are not, I will be telling you how you can still learn all these techniques even from afar!!! This is going to be something brand new that I think you'll all really like!! You have to be on my mailing list to get the details, though. Sign up in the box on the upper left (under my picture).
This is a scrapbook page I dug out of the archives. I made this page over two years ago and submitted it to Stampin' Up! for a contest. (I didn't win.) My scrapbooking styles have come a long way, but it's fun to look at back at where you started and how you became the stamper or scrapper that you are today. Plus since this was Emily's first Easter, I thought the page was perfect for today!
Stamp sets: Fresh Flowers, All Year Cheer 1
Inks: Summer Sun, Green Galore, Marvelous Magenta (retired color)
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Marvelous Magenta, Whisper White
Accessories: Fibers, Corner Rounder punch
Leave me a comment and let me know how you spent your Easter this year!
