Christmas Trail Mix

Happy New Year!  Time to get back into the swing of things!

Here is a great project that my kids made and we gave away as Christmas presents. It can make a great gift for anyone at any time of the year, so I'll let you know how we made them!

We used Ball Mason pint jars with the regular size mouth and filled them with a mixture of 2 parts almonds, 2 parts walnuts, and one part chocolate chips.  (We bought everything in bulk at Costco and made a giant bowl of it and then filled each jar from the big bowl.)

Emily was in charge of decorating the jars.  She used the Deck the Halls fabric and diecut the large Scallop Circle Die, layed it on top of the jar and screwed on the lid.  To cover the edge of the lid, we added some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and attached it the Mini Glue Dots.

Here is a quick picture of me with the fam on Christmas Eve.  It was a crazy holiday season for me.  I'm glad the kids are back in school this week and I can try to regain some control around here!!!

Advent Calendar/Christmas Countdown Class

This great 12 x 12 project can be placed in a frame and set on a table or hung as wall decor or placed in a scrapbook and used as a layout!!  The flaps that open up can hold secret messages or photos.  This project can make a great gift!!

Holiday Stocking Die Gift Card Holder

Here is another sample of one of the cards we made at the Shoebox Swap after Fall Fest.  This card was the "hardest" out of all of them because it was the most time consuming, but it's pretty adorable, so it was well worth the time!  I think everyone agreed with that, too!

Notice that there is a piece of Baker's Twine hanging from the candy cane.  This is to hang this on a tree as an ornament.  And instead of gluing the two halves of the stocking together around the edges, we actually put an additional piece of Sticky STrip in the middle of the stocking right near the top of the Christmas tree.  This is so you can tuck a gift card inside the stocking and have it peek out the top.  Pretty cool, huh???

The berries on the holly are created with the Red Glimmer paper, which is very cool.  I have used it a lot - it gives you that special little extra something without going totally over to the top!

Pocket Full of Posies Cork Board

Here is one of the projects we created for Fall Fest 2011.  It was one of our stamp camp projects and it uses the Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper.  The project was inspired by the cork boards we made for our last scrapboooking weekend in August.  You can see those here.

I also shared a sneak peek of this project a few weeks ago too.  See it??

This project was created with the Stampin' Up! cork sheets (#119819) and embellished with cardstock, a little ribbon, and a brad.  Super easy & super cute, right??  We even made coordinating thumbtacks!!

BOO Banner: Halloween Stamp Camp Project

I love this BOO banner!  It's one of my projects for my upcoming Halloween Stamp Camp Class on October 11.  Registration is now CLOSED, but you still can order the tutorial which includes all 9 projects!  This particular project uses a couple fun new products - the Perfect Pennant Die and the Simply Scored tool - and it combines some fun been-around-awhile products - Linen Thread, Basic Rhinestones, and the Serif Essentials Alphabet dies.  The Pick Your Poison flowers make a great addition to the banner!

Rockstar Birthday Card

Yesterday was Jeff's birthday, so I was frantically shopping yesterday morning (nothing like the last minute, right???).  Once I got home, I decided I needed to work a little bit, so after I picked the kids up from school, we all shared the task of making cupcakes, wrapping presents, and OF COURSE making the card.  Now I'll tell you how it all REALLY went down: I made the cupcakes, they wrapped the presents (I had to yell at them to clean up the mess), and they made the card (and I had to yell at them to clean up that mess).  I also made the icing and they decorated the cupcakes.  They had grand plans but since Jeff was about to walk in the door, they had to simplify.  :)

So the card was pretty cute.  I'm pretty sure Emily was the brains behind it, and who knows if Erin really helped at all, but here it is:

It's pretty cute, right?  I have to share some what she wrote on the inside, "I will never consider you old compared to my friends' dads."  How does that not make you feel awesome, right???  I can't wait to see what she writes to me next year!!

Since our time was running out, I made them only choose 2 colors of icing.  (They each wanted FOUR!)  So they decided on blue & orange.  Of course these weren't really dark enough for them, but we had to make do.  They did have a whole lot of fun decorating, though.  I'm not quite sure if they had a plan or if the plan was to get dirty, but they managed to get the job done and daddy loved them!!!

Fall Fest Workshop Wow

One of my (many) tasks at Fall Fest was to present a Workshop Wow.  I was running out of time and it's never easy to find something that would dazzle & impress demonstrators with little time, so I turned to Stampin' Connection (which is a resource that only demonstrators have access to) where I found this cute idea!  (Well this is my version of it.)

It's a hobby horse!!  I modeled it after the one my kids have.  It's a great use for our new Stocking Die and the skinny 1" x 8" cello bags in the Holiday Mini Catalog!I thought it would make a great demo at a workshop and/or even a hostess gift!

It should be pretty easy to figure out, but in case it isn't, I am going to put a video together for this (but I will warn you, it probably won't be until next week).  If you like this idea, and you are looking for more ideas similar to this, we do have a media package available from Fall Fest that will include this video and 6 others as well as hundreds of photos of display items, make & takes with directions, and even more.  You can read all about the Media Package here.

And since I made a horse, I decided to make a reindeer, too.  (I couldn't stop at just one sample!)  Here he is!

It was fun to create these guys.  If I had more time, I probably would have come up with a few more, so maybe when I get that free time I am always looking for I'll see what else I can do!!

Fall Fest

I just realized I haven't posted to my blog since MONDAY!!  Holy cow!!!

I have been working all week on Fall Fest, a 2-day demonstrator only event at (my favorite place) the Dolce in Basking Ridge, NJ!!!  Everyone is having a great time - we have had speakers, demonstrations, workshop wows, make & takes, techniques, matermind sessions, and MORE!  It has been a wonderful 2 days and it's not over yet!!

Simply Scored in Action!

Okay, well it's not really in action, but it is the result of a lot of action!!! The other night when I had my downline over to stamp, Barb brought this wreath.  She "copied" the sample from the Holiday Mini Catalog and she was able to break in her Simply Scored many times over with this project!!!

Here is the full wreath.  Because we were indoors, the photo didn't come out as well as I would have liked, but it's not bad - you definitely get the idea!!!  Barb used the Designer Series Paper, Spice Cake from the mini, (I love that!!!), some retired buttons, and some Basic Pearls.

Fall Fest Sneak Peeks

I am working on a large event called Fall Fest that will be held later this month.  It's a training event for demonstrators in my downline and sideline, but if you'd like to attend the make & take portion of the day, let me know!!  (But, hurry - we need to place orders by Monday!)  Today we finalized a lot of the make & takes.  One group of them are all based around one 1/2 pack of DSP (Pocketful of Posies) and the projects are SO COOL!!!  I can't show you all of them, but I have a few sneak peek photos of some of them.  I shared it on the Fall Fest website, so I can share them with you now, too!!
