Anyone & everyone who lives in or near Sussex County know that means you are going to the Sussex County Farm & Horse Show, which is now also known as the New Jersey State Fair.
So today, I took the girls up for our annual visit, which is a tradition that dates back to when I was a kid. Back then my mom, aunt(s), and grandma would take me, my sisters, and our cousins to the fair. We rode the rides, ate, had fresh squeezed lemonade, and finished it off with waffles & ice cream. So this year, we did the same, except I swapped my waffles & ice cream for a dish of ice cream with sprinkles.
In addition to running into the Queen of the Fair, who is from my town this year (go Sandyston!!), here are a few more highlights:
And here is one of my most favorite parts of the fair this year. This is Erin & Emily making a quilt square for the Quilts of Valor Project. These squares will be made into a quilt and given to an injured solider. These photos you will see on a scrapbook page very soon. I already have the page in my mind.
