Here was another sample created by the Jen-Deb-Sue team during the Convention make & takes. This one was made by my downline Sue and Stampin' Up! called it the "Thank You So Very Much card".
Supplies are: Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly C/S: Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark Accessories: On Board Loads of Letters, Choc Chip 1" double stitched grosgrain, Whis White 1/4" grosgrain, Vanilla Hogepodge, Crop-A-Dile, Boho Blossoms punch, Scallop Edge Punch
Here is one of the projects that Deb made during our divide & conquer make & take session. It's a bookmark that uses the new Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon!! We think it's such a cute idea and would make a great gift for kids to make for their parents.
Stamp set: Eastern Blooms Cardstock: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Old Olive Ink: Old Olive craft, Tangerine Tango Accessories: Pacific Point ribbon, On Board Scallop Square (from OB Essentials), Filigree brads
What better way to celebrate the new catalog than with new samples?????
Here is one of the make & takes from Convention. This is one I made. We have a divide & conquer plan of attack when it comes to make & takes at large events. We divide up all the projects and each person in my group will do several of the same project. This seems to make them a little less stressful to complete, and (most importantly) WE FINISH THEM!!! The downside is that not everyone gets to use all the products, but if I don't do them at Convention, I would NEVER do them, so it's a no-brainer for me!!!
This project uses a technique called debossing: where you dry emboss the paper, then we brayered color on the back of the cardstock, and the areas that we depressed resisted the ink. Pretty cool huh?
Other supplies are:
Eastern Blooms & Thank You Kindly stamp sets
Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Naturals White, and Whisper White cardstock
I was doing so well updating my blog during convention, which is NOT an easy thing, but anyway, I missed Saturday because on Friday afternoon I came down with a cold. I still don't feel well, but I am sitting in the airport and am on my way home. Of course I am taking the red-eye and it is delayed, but soon I will be home, and after a day or 2 of rest I should be back to normal.
Anyway, I know a lot of people who didn't attend convention have been wondering who is on the new Advisory Board and that info I can give you:
Thursday morning's General Session did not disappoint!! Shelli announced lots of new fun things - one was her new blog - soshelli.com and many more things that were still yet to come!!
One of the things I liked the most was the second phase of the Decor Elements - colors!!!!!! And who would have guessed, but you can 2-step them!!! Jill Kockerhans showed us how you could do this, and here was the sample she demoed:
And here is what it looks like when you have a whole wall of it:
So that was pretty cool stuff!!! By the way, the colors on the rub ons (that coordinate with the Ginormous Flowers stamp set) are Pixie Pink, Chocolate Chip, Gable Green, and So Saffron.
But some even more cool stuff was the Awards night!! I was happy to place as the #96 Demonstrator of the Year!! Here is a photo of me on the stage. (Can you tell which one is me?)
Today was a really exciting day!! We checked in around 9:30, got our bags with our new stamp sets & the new catalog, and then went & checked in at the Awards Booth. To my super surprise, I made it to Founder's Circle again!!! I'm not sure exactly what I have won yet, but will find out tomorrow night. Here is the adorable cute pink bag I got, though!!
So, do you want to hear about the new catalog???? Okay, well, I always look right to the accessories first. Here is what you can expect (these are just some highlights):
new punches - square scallop, 1-3/4" circle, wide oval, the curly label lunch, and of course the scallop border punch!
new ribbon: the on colors are all 5/8" striped grosgrain, there is 1-1/4" Pink Pirouette grosgrain, 1" double stitched ribbon, and more colors (including Chocolate Chip) of 1/4" grosgrain were added!
Hodgepodge Hardware in styled silver (like the mini) and also in Vanilla!
new flower fusion in pink pirouette, baja breeze, & chocolate chip
lots of great new designer series papers!!!
new simply scrappin kits
great new chipboard - two with letters (and several of each letter!!!!)
and my favorite stamp set is called - Cheers to You - it has a martini glass, daiquiri glass, margarita glass, beer mug, and 2 wine glasses clinking together - SO CUTE!!!!
Next we stood on line for TWO hours to get to Memento Mall (I really love you Leanne!!!) then we headed back for a nap.
At 5:00 we had a tour of Riverton, and even though I have been there three times, it's so great to go there. Here is a picture of Deb, Sue, & I in the atrium.
Okay, I hope you enjoy your Thursday!!! More tomorrow!!!
