Last night at my first Club Night of January, my very talented friend Elisabeth was here. (Check out her blog here.) I LOVE the cards she makes, but her style is so different from mine. She is kind of shabby chic with lots of distressing and lots of layers, and I just love the way her projects come out, but I never seem to quite achieve her style, even when trying. As we were talking last night, she told me she also liked my CAS (clean and simple) style, but she struggled with doing it. Funny how that is, huh?
Anyway, we got talking about some card challenge sites, and I decided to take one of the cards we made last night, and use it as an inspiration for one of the many card challenge sites she has listed on her blog. (I feel like even though I have been making a lot of cards, and coming up with lots of ideas, my cards are starting to look the same, so the inspiration really couldn't have come at a better time!) I chose this week's sketch at Mojo Monday and here is what I came up with. It's my Clean & Simple take on the sketch. (Notice how anal I am - I pretty much have to follow the sketch to a T!)
I used all Stampin' Up! products. Here is a quick supply list:
Stamps: With all My Heart
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sending Love DSP
Ink: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Word Window Punch, Modern Label punch, Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brads
I think I'm going to try & do at least one challenge a week from now on. Just another thing to add to the list for 2010!!! Hope you enjoyed this card and are inspired to create something great!!!
